Don Bosco Anbu illam HCL Foundation Scouts & Guides Scoute Garden Innaguration.
Don Bosco anbu illam has been associated with HCl foundation, collaborating with major slums in Chennai to Promote education and environmental support for vulnerable children in the slums of Chennai through the project “Police Boys and Girls Club” by providing supplementary education for the children and creating a safe and clean environment.Police Boys and Girls Clubs rejuvenated in Chennai in the year 2011 with the the intention of training and humanizing young boys in the right way during their leisure time so that they grow up into responsible citizens. It aims to prevent dropouts by providing after school coaching and extra curricular activities to prevent dropouts upholding school community collaboration, promoting child rights club, refining skill development for youth through sports and scouts.HCL Foundation signed MOU with Greater Chennai police identifying vulnerable areas in in Chennai and propose to work in altogether with 30 Police Boys and Girls Club.The scout masters and tuition teachers enabled the children by implementing the strategies to empower and educate.
HCL Foundation-Don Bosco Anbu illam, scout and guides initiated scout green garden at J9 Thuraipakkam Police Boys and Girls Club.This auspicious ceremony was inaugurated by Mr.Mahendran, Deputy Commissioner of police, Adyar,Mr.Ravi Assistant Commissioner of police J9 Thuraipakkam Police Station
Mr. Raj Cherubal,CEO, Chennai Smart City Ltd, and Chief Guest of the day is Ms.Nidhi Pundhir, Director,HCL Foundation in the presence of Fr.James Raj , Assistant Director,Don Bosco Anbu illam.
The fifth point of Bharat scouts and guides law states that”A “Scout is Friend to Animals and Loves Nature”.We centralize on this point on our day-to-day activities.Scout and Guides initiated Scout Green Garden at J9 Thuraipakkam Police Boys and Girls Clubs.The aim behind garden is to highlight the importance of maintaining the the environment it for oneself as well as for the upcoming generation.Likewise prevention of anti-social activities, and equip the Scout Kids with a unique and relevant teaching opportunity on Miyawaki plantation . This shall serve as serene study corner and to show Scout students live gadgets inside the garden and place of exposure for the scout team and also to the public.Around I lakh families prevail in Thuraipakkam Community .It indeed helps 120 scouts and guides students from different clubs to know the importance of preserving natural and also to gain practical knowledge.The troop has already given there contribution by painting the walls to spread social awareness nurturing the plants and planting saplings to reduce pollution and control climatic changes.Not least of all, the garden supplies more oxygen observing the carbon dioxide.
The success stories scouts and guides are limitless.Amoung 80 Guides from Chennai Zone,5 Guides From Don Bosco Anbu illam-HCL Foundation Guides have participated on” FREE BEING ME ” Course and received certificates from the State Officio.55 Scouts& Guides have Successfully passed Diwitya Sopan 3rd level, Tritiya Sopon 4th level exam,now they are eligible to appear for Rajya puraskar(Governor Award)exam.
