FOUR CHAIN SNACHERS NABBED IN MADURAI CITY ! 44 LAKHS WORTH 120 SOVEREIGN OF GOLD JEWELS RECOVERED !
Two special teams one led by Tr.Ravi, Assistsnt Commissioner of Police, Tallakulam (Crime) Range with Tr. Balamurugan , Inspector of Police , Annanagar (Crime) Madurai City and another team led by Tr. Shanmugam, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Thirupparankundram Range with Tr.Gsnesan, Inspector of Police
B.4, Keeraithurai (Crime) Police Station, Madurai City were formed under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Police , Crime Mdurai City on the orders of the Commissioner of Police, Msdurai City to trace and nab the accused involved in the chain snatching and robbery incidents especially targeting the women moving on two wheelers and walking alone women, reported in Tallakulam , Sellur, Koodalpudur, Thiruppali, S.S.Colony, Annanagar, Keeraithurai, Thirupparankundram, Avaniyapuram areas in Madurai City. The spcial team were on the lookout for the accused involved in these offences.
As a result of sustained efforts taken by the special team by systematically analyzing all the CCTV Cameras installed in the areas where offences were reported, accused Mani @ Vairamani of Krishapuram Colony and his associte Balasubrmaniam involved in many chain snatching offenes were arrested by the Tallakulam special team . Similarly accused Madhankumar and his associate Siva of Kalmedu were arrested by the Thirupparankundram Special Team.
During the enquiy , accused Mani @Vairamani and Balasubramanian confessed committing 13 chain snatching offences in Madrai City and 4 such offences in samayanallur in Madurai District and Dinigul District areas 90 sovereigns of gold jewels worth of Rs. 33 Lakhs were seized from them . Accused Madhankumar and Siva of Kalmedu area, Madurai District were found involved in 8 Chain snatching cases and 30 sovereigns of gold jewels worth Rs.11 Lakhs were seized from them. 4 two wheelers used by the accused to commit chain snatching offences were also seized from the said accused .

Mani @ Vairamani in Madurai City using the money he earned through chain snatching offence . He is also found taking practice for two wheeler trace in Andhra pradesh.
The Commissioner of Police , Madurai City and the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime , Madurai City applauded the efforts of both Special teams in securing the chain snatching accused swiftly and seizure of 120 sovereigns of gold jewel worth Rs. 44 Lakh and two wheelers.
The CCTV Cameras installed in various places of Madurai City were found very much helpful to trace and nab the accused involved in criminal activities . With the support of general public and sustained efforts of Madurai City Police by insisting the importance of installation of CCTV Camera in the city limits, so far more than eleven thousand CCTV Cameras were installed. These CCTV Cameras render immense assistance to the City Police in controlling the activities of anti social elements and detection of crimes efficiently.
The Commissioner of Police , Madurai City appealed to the general public to install more number of CCTV Cameras in their residential areas and business establishments in ensuring the City is kept under effective surveillance round the clock.
