FIVE CRIMINALS INVOLVED IN MANY BURGLARY CASES IN MADURAI CITY NABBED!
24 LAKHS WORTH GOLD JEWELS, 1/4, KG SILVER MATERILS AND 2 TWO WHEELERS RECOVERED FROM THEM !
A Special team led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, South Gate Range with Tr.Ganeshan, Inspector of Police, B4, Keeraithurai (crime) Police Station, Madurai City was formed under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioners of Police , South and North , Madurai City on the orders of the Commissioner of Police, Madurai city to trace and nab the accused involved in series of night burglary offence reported in W1, Thirunagar , C2, Subramaniyampuram Police Station, C3, SS.Colony Police Station areas in Madurai City. The special team was on the lookout for the accused involved in these offence.
The special team, during their intensive hunt, collected video footages of all CCTV Cameras intalled in this areas and nearby places of scene of crime, analyzed the footages and traced the accused involved in these offences.
As a result of sustained efforts , the special team arrested prime accused i.e Soniraja @ soni of Allinagaram, Theni and his associate Periaramu @Arjunan, Vadipatti Madurai. Further, another three accused i.e. Sulaiman of Thenprankundram, Alagarsamy of Kinnimangalam and Rajkumar of Pompi Naickenpatti were also arrested by the special team.
One Two wheeler, a Television and 6 1/2 sovereigns of gold jewels stolen from 5 places were seized from the accused Sonyaraja @Sony. 32 sovereigns of gold jewels concerned in 8 cases were seized from the accused Sulaiman. Similarly , 7 sovereigns of gold jewels and 1/4 kg of silver materials were seized from Petiyaramu @ Arjunan. Hand glouses and monkey caps used by the accused while they committed night burglaries were also seized from them.
During the enquiry, it came to light that about the involvement of the said accused in a case of theft of a two wheeler at Thiruppur district and several temple hundial breaking case in Cinnalaptti areas.
55 sovereigns of gold jewels worth of Rs.22 Lakhs, 1/4 kg of silver materials to the value of Rs 17, 500/- , 2 two wheelers having worth Rs 1 Lakh, Cash Rs. 42,000/- stolen from many hundials and a sony tv worth Rs 25,000/- reported in 14 theft cases were seized from the said accused Total value of these seized properties works out to Rs. 23, 84, 500/-
The Commissioner of Police , Madurai City and the Deputy Commissioners of police south, and North, Madurai City applauded the swift efforts of the police personel of the Special team in securing the accused involved in night burglaries, seizure gold jewels and other properties having value to the tune of around Rs 24 Lakhs.
The CCTV Camera instlled in vrious places of Madurai City gives immense suport to City Police to trace and nab the accused involved in crimminal activities With able support of general public and sustained efforts of Madurai City Police by insisting the importance of installation of CCTV Camera in the city limits, sofar totally more than 12000 CCTV Cameras were installed at various important junction in the city in a manner to have a close surveillance on the important roads. These CCTV CAMERAS render invaluable assistance to the City Police in keeping close eye on the activities of anti−social elements and detection of crimes efficiency .
The Commissioner of Police , Madurai city appealed to the general public to install more number of CCTV Cameras in their residential areas and business establishments to helf the city police in controlling crimminal activies and to ensure that the City is kept under effective surveillance round the clock.
