On the instructions of Commissioner of Police, Madurai various measures are taken by Madurai City Police to control the illegal activities of rowdy elements in Madurai City.
During the month of November alone, necessary legal action was initiated against 251 rowdy elements. Out of which, action under section 109 & 110 CrPC was initiated against 166 rowdy elements and crime offenders, who were involved in various criminal offences to ensure their good conduct and bonds were obtained from them, in which 16 rowdy elements were remanded to judicial custody for violating the bonds. 29 notorious rowdy elements were arrested for possession of deadly weapons, 24 were arrested for committing robbery and 32 NBW accused were arrested and all were remanded. 8 swords, 8 knifes and 3 Aruval were seized from the notorious elements.
15 rowdies have been detained under Goondas Act in November 2021 and 72 in 2021 till date.
The Commissioner of Police, Madurai City warned of stern action against rowdy elements and those indulge in illegal activities in Madurai City.
