In the city of Madurai, the police imposed severe punishment on those who violated the law during Thevar Jayanthi

During the celebration of Thevar Jayanthi in Madurai City on 30.10.2021, the two wheeler and four wheeler riders who drove their vehicles in a rash and negligent manner raising inappropriate sound causing disturbance to the general public were booked and necessary legal action were taken against the Motorist. 79 cases were registered against 112 two wheelers 3 four wheelers including 13 IPC cases four 75 MCP Act cases and 62 Motor vehicles Act and 23 persons were arrested and released on bail. Further a fine of Rs. 1,36, 600/- was collected as fine from the violators for race driving.

In addition to that 14 two wheeler riders were booked under 38 M.V Act cases and Rs 16,400/- of was fined through e.challan by the Madurai city Traffic Police . Moreover 150 Motor rules violated vehicles pictures were taken by Madurai city Traffic police and fined challans were sent to motorists who violated motor vehicle rules for rash driving without helmet and signal violation etc.

During the Thevar Jayanthi criminal cases were registerd against those demaged the government vehicle Accused involved in ruckus were identified by drone shoots and Police videography regards as well as CCTV Footages analysis, Necessary action is being taken to arrest the accused involved in the offences.
